About Me
Nicola Salisbury
Hello, I'm Nicola, a Counsellor working with both adults and teenagers from all walks of life.
My training as an Integrative Counsellor allows me to tailor my therapeutic approach to suit your needs, whether that be to listen to your story and sit with you in your pain or work with you to make positive changes in your life... or something in between.

I can offer you a safe and confidential space to be heard without judgement or expectation. Your reasons for contacting me might be anxiety, depression, relationship problems, a bereavement, low self-esteem, difficulty coping with change and uncertainty or more.
Sometimes just not feeling yourself can be a good place to start.

Counselling Qualifications
I have a diploma in Integrative Counselling and I’m a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy). I follow and uphold their Code of Ethical Practice and am fully insured. I work with my client's best interests at the forefront of my mind and have regular supervision to ensure I am working to the highest clinical standards.
I'm also trained in DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) which is a form of CBT created to teach clients skills to cope with, and overcome, emotional dysregulation, self-harm and relationship problems.

Alongside my private practice, I facilitate DBT groups at the Nightingale psychiatric hospital in central London.
Previously I’ve worked as a counsellor for the mental health charity Mind and at a young persons homeless shelter for Aldwyck Housing. I also have five years experience facilitating DBT groups and working as a one to one DBT therapist at Home Counties Therapy Clinic.
An Integrative Approach
The basic principle of Integrative therapy is that there is no "one size fits all" approach when it comes to personal growth and breaking free from your negative thinking patterns. I believe that the therapeutic process is a collaborative one, where you as the client are supported and empowered to look at what works for you and what doesn't, so together we can find the most effective way to help reach your goal.

As an integrative therapist, I can use a combination of approaches to help you become the version of yourself you want to be.
These might be Transactional Analysis, CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) or Person Centred therapy.
